Surefire Marketing & Event Consulting is owned and operated by Stephanie McLarty.
Upon completion of her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia, specializing in Marketing in 1997, Steph embarked upon a career in advertising, starting at a 3-person agency in Vancouver. She moved to Cossette in Vancouver and then Blitz, the direct communications arm of Cossette, in Toronto. After three years in the telecommunications industry, she moved to the world of packaged goods and financial services with Bensimon Bryne in Toronto.Her advertising clients included: KISS FM, London Optical, BC TEL, MTS and Bell, Procter & Gamble, Effem, Neilson Dairies, and Scotiabank. After getting married in 2002 in Collingwood, Ontario, Steph and her husband decided to move permanently to Collingwood to experience the four-season playground they had grown up with. From early 2002 until late 2004, she worked in Real Estate Marketing and Sales for Playground, an Intrawest company, at the Blue Mountain Resort, launching new resort properties: three phases of Rivergrass, Historic Snowbridge Lots, Seasons at Blue Phase II and The Westin Trillium House. She also contributed to the early stages of the marketing and promotion of the Village at Blue, it's new commercial tenants and Village events while starting a new resort-wide Village lifestyle publication promoting Intrawest, the Village, and resort living. She then made the move into Hospitality Management at Watermark Hospitality, managing all corporate and private social events at two properties: the Inn at Creemore Hills and Fieldview Farm, while securing the corporate catering contract at Club Intrawest, managing individual catering events and the daily operations of two retail gourmet food shops for Picnic Cafe and Catering. In August, 2006, Steph and her husband embarked on a world tour, visiting 19 countries in 8 months. They started in London, England and finished in Auckland, New Zealand. The dream of running her own consulting business was born on the trip and has since turned into reality upon returning to Canada.
